The R-12 was popular with and without sidecar. It was the first serial machine incorporating a four-speed gearbox and telescopic fork with hydraulic shock absorbers; it was not the first telescopic fork motorcycle , but if the first truly modern and incorporated it in a motorcycle shock absorbers as standard.
