Indian Power Plus with sidecar from 1918
The Indian Powerplus was built from 1916 to 1923 by the Hendee Manufacturing Company. Designed by Charles Gustafson, the Powerplus’s engine was Indian’s first flathead.
In 1916 a new model of Indian appeared, the legendary Powerplus with side valve, four stroke 42º flathead engine, more powerful than the previous overhead valve , remaining in production until 1924.
With an immediate success this powerful, robust and reliable American model is still one of the most coveted of the time.
