Warrick 1914
- Sold
Spectacular Warrick from 1914 which has an awesome well-known background.
Although the information from nearly 100 years ago is scarce, John Warrick & Co is a good example of a small manufacturer of three-wheelers in the early 20th Century.
However, these “cars of three wheels” became obsolete vehicles after the First War World, and only brands such as Morgan and Reliant have enjoyed long-term success in 3-wheeler production.
Some manufacturers blamed the motoring press for accelerating their demise; nevertheless, most tricars produced could not be updated as fast as the motoring customers demanded.
The earliest models only had to compete with horse-drawn carriages. But, by 1918, four-wheeler cars and motorcycles with sidecars were cheaper, faster and more reliable and put them out of business.
At present, few survivors, most of them, are in museums, where visitors only can admire its aesthetic beauty; however, few collectors have the privilege to appreciate its mechanical essence. It may be only valued when you listen to its amazing “rattle”.
This particular Warrick has a well-known history, with extensive documents, original pictures and certificates that support its past.
It arrived in Spain some years ago, where it has been restored again and checked each small part.
At present, it has an exceptional and deserved condition (aesthetical and mechanical) that makes us feel stirred and amazed.
