In 1902, Rover introduced the Imperial motorcycle with a 2.75 hp engine.
In 1903 there was a new model with a 3,5 hp engine.
Up to 1905 altogether 1250 motorcycles were produced but then production was dropped.
In 1911 Rover once again started to build motorcycles and these new ones were a success. The new engice was 500 cc with 3.5hp. This model was very successful in different contests and in 1913 alone the Imperial Rover motorcycle conquered more then 100 victories.
At the outbreak of World War I in 1914 Rover had produced 1435 motorcycles.
During the war between 1915 and 1918 Rover produced 3103 motorcycles for the armies of Great Britain and Russia.
After the war Rover developed these motorcycles and there was a wide range of models from light 250 cc to heavy 650 cc.
But finally, in 1926, production was dropped to favour developement of the cars.
